A Reputable Journalism School Dismisses Eight Students For Not Following Covid-19 Safety Protocols
Corona virus has hit the world so hard and has forced people all over to live a life they live before; as these measures or protocols are now refer to as the new normal. People are asked to wear nose mask, regular washing of hands with soap under running water, and practicing of social distancing and so on.
Since the outbreak of this deadly virus, many prominent people across the globe including Ghana have lost their lives to the virus. In Ghana the second wave of the Covid-19 is very serious as new positive cases are been recorded day in day out and the number continues to rise like a wild fire in the harmattan season.
Surprisingly, one of the media schools and a leading practical tertiary institution in Ghana, Gh media school has dismissed eight of its students on the 18th of February, 2021 for failing to observe the safety measures put out by the management of the school to help stop the spread of the deadly novel corona virus.
A press release published by the School’s communication directorate and sighted by trendingghana.net suggests that some students have turned a deaf ear to the school’s directives put in place to mitigate the spread of the global pestilence (Covid-19).
“ Management has observed with grave concern that students have flatly refused to adhere to the Covid-19 protocols especially wearing of nose mask” it stated.
The management went further to reiterate that, “please be informed that management is very serious about following the orders of both the president and GES directives and every measure will be put in place to make sure that the school is safe for academic work”
Do you think the management was hashed on its decision to expell those students and what is your take on that?
