Apam gods demand 12 fowls, 1 fat cow, 33 yam tubers from its constituents to prevent any further disaster
Chiefs of Gomoa Akyempim have began performing rituals to the gods of Apam following the disaster.
The gods according to the chiefs are demanding 1 cow, 3 sheep, 12 fowls and 33 tubers of yam.
This according to them will pacify the gods and enable the rest of the bodies trapped in the sea to be washed ashore.
The people of Apam can’t come to terms with the way and manner in which some 13 teenagers drawn in the beach.
Whiles preparing the ground to barry all of them in one day on Tuesday, the chief priests and priestesses said, they are done consulting the gods on what to do,
1 fat cow, 3 sheeps, 12 fowls, 33 tubers of yam and 3 cartons of schnapps are some of the demands the gods are said to have made.
According to the queen mother of the area, Nana Essel Botwe explained the consultation of the gods proves that they had been offended and needed to pacify them.
She again said, the essence of this pacification though some Christians would not agree and understand however, they believe in their customs and traditions.
“We did this rituals to prevent such disasters from happening a second time” said the queen mother.
“Somankwa hene” of the Gomoah Akyempim traditional area, Nana Okofo Annan speaking to the media said, the traditional council will issue a ban on swimming in the sea for people below the age of 18.
