Auditor General, Mr. Domelevo was unlawfully sacked by Akufo Addo–Center for Democratic Development.
Former editor general Mr. Domelevo has restricted himself from making any comment regarding the controversies surrounding his accumulated leave and his mandatory retirement.
Addressing the public at a thanksgiving service at Accra to thank God for a successful rendition of service to Ghana, Mr. Domelevo therefore urged all Cevic Society.
Organisations and all agencies in the country that are fighting against corruption to be firm, he and expressed his gratitude to them for their immense support.
According to him, fighting corruption alone will not be fruitful.
“I must say to the anti-corruption institutions that, if you fight corruption alone, you would not last, corruption is one dangerous and a number one enemy you can’t fight alone, and you can’t fight it quietly too, when you fight corruption quietly, you would be finished in a minute” Said Domelevo.
However a while ago, director of advocacy and policy engagement at Centre for Democratic Development, Dr. Kodwo Asante, addressing the media on the controversies surrounding the accumulated leave of the former auditor general of the Ghana audit service, described the directive of the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for Mr. Domelevo to proceed on retirement as unlawful and unconstitutional.
He made this address on Wednesday March, 10, 2021, during a meeting of Civic society organisations against corruption in Accra.
He stressed that the supreme court must come out with it determination on the matter that was brought before it by Dr. Kwaku Azar demanding the constitutionality of the president’s directive to Daniel Domelevo to proceed on an accumulated leave.
Dr. Asante believes that the manner in which the question regarding Domelevo’s date of birth which forms the recent basis for the president’s letter were not handled in accordance with the constitutional directives as in article 23 that, administrative action must be handled fairly, reasonably and in compliance with the due process of law.
” The coordinated action from the office of the president and the audit service board chair on this matter further confirms our believe that Mr. Domelevo has bern unfairly sacked” Said Dr. Asante
