THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS FULL OF JUJU- EDWARD AKWASI BOATENG
Edward Akwasi Boating is one of the oldest gospel musicians in Ghana who is based in Kumasi in the Ashante region. According to him he released his first album in the 90s.
Upon an interview with DJ Smart (Eld) on the Offinso based Life fm 93.4 mhz, he revealed that he as a person has faced a lot challenges in life as far as his music career is concerned. When asked about his fellow gospel/ musician in the music industry, he said some of them do certain things which do not actually portray as a good Christian. He however poised and said that some musician even use juju. According to him he sees it to be evil because a good Christian will not allow himself to be used by the devil.
When asked as how does he get money from his music career by DJ Smart, Mr Edward Akwasi Boating stated that, those days when you released an album, the amount of money one gets determines the number of cassettes you sell. The “makoma so adeiɛ” hit maker also said he sold about five thousand copies of his first album. But now people go to the internet and download songs free instead of them buying.
Mr Edward recalled his failed marriage and its effects on his life as a person. According him he suffered for childlessness about four years in the marriage. He said the reasons why a lot of people experience failed relationship and marriages at this time is that, some of the ladies or women don’t want to work because they have the mindset that, the man will take care of their needs and everything, which is not so. Because the two individual have to work hand in hand to support each other for a better life.
He said this when DJ Smart asked him about why his marriage collapsed.
