CLEMENT C. BLAY FOUNDATION; SHAIP AFRICA SUPPORT MENZEZOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS TO OFFER FREE MEDICAL SCREENING IN ELLEMBELLE.
No fewer than 200 community folks and less privileged in Menzezor within the Ellembelle district of the Western region, on Friday, 1st January, 2022, benefited from a free medical screening, organized by a group of health professionals and Shaip Africa Foundation.
Residents from the district who participated in the program had their health checked and given medicines for free of charge.
They were screened on blood pressure, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, hypertension, fever, malaria, breast examination, blood pressure, Glucose level and the aged group were treated through physiotherapy.
The professionals who hails from and had their basic education background from menzezor used the occasion to give back to their roots.
The group namely; Menzezor Health Professionals and Associates is made up of health professionals, lecturers, Educationist and support from Mr. Clement Clinton Blay who is a pharmacist and CEO of Shaip Africa Foundation, focused on offering professional services to humanity while influencing good health to aid active human capital.
Nonetheless, Mr. Clement Clinton Blay speaking to the Media said, his Non-governmental organization, SHAIP AFRICA FOUNDATION which boasts of providing life-changing support for the less privileged was committed to addressing the health needs of Menzezor community.
Mr. Clement Clinton Blay who is championing the fight to eradicate Hepatitis B renewed his call for improved funding from the Ghanaian government for hepatitis public health education, testing and treatment services especially making vaccination at birth, free for pregnant women to save the unborn child from contracting the disease.
He revealed that, his collaboration with the Menzezor Professionals was key because, despite available diagnostic tools and effective treatment, less of the hepatitis patients are able to buy the Vaccines and afford treatment due to its cost and availability hence affecting the Universal Health Coverage target for 2030.
Mr. Clement C. Blay was optimistic that, giving back to society comes with blessings thus, his Foundation (SHAIP AFRICA) is ready to offer full support to stakeholders and other NGOs who seeks to promote health among the people of Menzezor.
Nana Akye Blay VII the chief of Menzezor in his address commended the Menzezor Health Professionals for placing his people under a better health conditions through the exercise.
In conclusion, the Chief appeals to other professionals to emulate the gesture to help accelerate health services in a community they found themselves.
