DCE ‘ODENKYEM’ STOPS MP’S OFFICE
ALLOCATED FUNDS TO TRAIN YOUTH
District chief executive (DCE) for Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti region of Ghana, Joseph Owusu (also known as Odenkyem), has, since September 01, 2018, “blocked” the release of GH¢2,200.00 to help train thirty-one youth in fashion design to reduce unemployment rate.
A September 01, 2018 letter from the office of the member of parliament (MP), Alex Adomako-Mensah, to the DCE, signed by him (MP) and sighted by freelance editor Osei Kuffour reads:
“Kindly release an amount TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED (GH¢2200.00) from my MP’S COMMON FUND in support of THOMAS BOAKYE TO PURCHASE INDUSTRIAL MACHINE TO OPEN NEW BRANCH AT DROBONSO TO ENHANCE HIS WORK SO AS TO TRAIN MORE APPRENTICES TO REDUCE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THE COUNTRY AND SEKYERE AFRAM PLAINS.”
Thomas Boakye is a native of Sekyere Afram Plains and chief executive officer (CEO) of Kumasi-based KBY Fashion devoted to training the youth in his craft for free to help solve the crisis level unemployment issue.
