Expose Criminals In Your Communities – Eastern Regional Police Command


The Eastern Regional Police Operational Commander and the Koforidua District Commander Chief Superintendent Raymond Kofi Erzuah has urged Ghanaians to as matter of urgency expose criminals in their communities to eradicate crime completely.

He made this known in an interview when a 42 year old suspected Murderer Michael Akrofi who murdered a 39 year old Okada rider Kwabena Opoku in cold blood, buried him in his farm and was arrested in their custody in Koforidua.


He said policing is a shared responsibility, so the public should give out information without fear or favour because their identity will be protected.
He said the suspected Murderer Michael Akrofi, hired the services of the deceased Kwabena Opoku aka Oboye Joe, on the 20th of February 2021 and murdered him in his farm at Okornya in Yilo Krobo district and buried the body. He run away with the Okada to unknown destination.
He said investigation was led to where he buried the body and it was sent to saint Joseph hospital morgue. He was later arrested in Accra where he contacted a family member Kojo Baah to aid him sought protection from mallam so that he will not be arrested.
Upon interrogation, he admitted that he perpetuated the crime, and sold the motor at eight hundred cedis in Akyem Tekyiman.He also made an attempt to leave the country to Ivory Coast was unsuccessful.
Chief Sup. Erzuah said the corpse is still at the morgue for preservation and autopsy. Meanwhile the Koforidua Magistrate Court B, Presided over by His Lordship Eric Daning has remanded Michael Akrofi into one month prison custody to reappear on the 9th of April 2021 whilst investigation is ongoing.
