#Fixthecountry demo#; Beat them if they attempt to demonstrate – NPP Chairman tells Police
Personnel of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) have been asked to subject any person or group of persons to beatings if there is any attempt to embark on the ” fix the country” demonstration.
The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Richard Akwasi Asante, who gave the advice, said the group has no legal right to stage such demonstration to disregard the orders by the police.
Speaking to a section of the media, Mr Asante, said the organizers must respect the police by adhering to the reasons for restraining them from such act .
According to him, staging demonstration amid covid-19 will undeniably spread the deadly virus which could lead to several deaths.
Mr Asante, described the organisers and people behind the demonstration as members of National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, it will be unfortunate to stage such demonstration since even developed countries are now striving to put measures in place to manage their economies.
Mr Asante urged the security agencies to mercilessly deal with any person who will indulge in acts of lawlessness that could affect the lives of the citizenry.
