G/A: Ghana police have found two tigers in a residential facility

The Accra Police Command on Thursday, May 19 released an official statement with reference number-ARHQ/PAU/AR.10/VOL.1/06, signed by Chief Inspector Bright Kwabena Danso; Regional Public Affairs Unit indicating that they have received a complaint that some tigers were being kept in a residential neighborhood in Accra.

Preliminary investigations have  established that a resident in a gated community in Osu a suburb of Accra, is keeping two tigers under lock in a cage in his house. Police have reached out to the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission and efforts are underway to relocate the animals to an appropriate facility. A special police team has been deployed to provide adequate security in the affected neighborhood to ensure the safety of residents until the animals are relocated. Management wishes to thank members of the public for bringing their attention to the matter.
