JAHWAGAH 1 -Promising musician.
Patrick Daniels Jahwagah (formerly Awagah) is an ordained evangelist from the Patmos Theological Bible Institute and School of Wisdom, a teacher with Great Lamptey Mills Senior High School and a computer engineer from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) so committed to the gospel music ministry.
Fondly known as “Jahwagah 1”, the unassuming young man had his basic and senior high education at Wiafe Akenten International School and Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) respectively.
“As a child I loved music and used to sing a lot. I joined the school choir when I was in primary six. I was among the tenor singers.
At KUMACA I was part of the school choir that placed first in the inter-school singing competition for second cycle institutions in the Ashanti region in 2001. I was also a member of the Ashanti region choir for second cycle institutions which placed second at the national level held in 2001 at the Centre for National Culture, Kumasi. I was a bass singer.
At KNUST I could not join any singing group because I did not have enough time. However, I studied a little music.
I joined the St. Martin’s church choir of the Our Lady of Mercy (OLAM) Catholic Church at Tema Community 1 in 2012 but I could not stay long with them because I had to return to Kumasi. Yes, life forced me to come to Kumasi and Offinso.
Then in 2013 the spirit of music began to move me strongly. God gave me my first track, ‘The Right Time Shall Come’, in a dream and that became the title of my maiden album. I started recording my songs at Kingdom First Media, Kumasi, where I recorded eight major tracks.
In 2018 I continued to release singles including ‘Animuonyam w) sorosoro’, ‘Ma Ogya No Mmra’, and ‘Yebetwa’. ‘Yebetwa’ was dedicated to the final year students who were to sit their final year examinations during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020,” Jahwagah 1 in an online interview with editor Osei Kuffour (OK).
