KUMACA PAST STUDENTS CONGRATULATE THE NEW
CHAIR FOR PEACE COUNCIL
Upon the Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s inauguration of a new 14-member board of the National Peace Council (NPC) at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday for the next 4-year term, president of Kumasi Academy Past Students’ Association (KAPSA-AKUNINI), Okunini Kwabena Dapaah-Siakwan, on behalf of the association, has sent a congratulatory message to their colleague and new chair of the NPC board, Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi (Okunini Adu-Gyamfi, Kumaca 1974), on his election to the high office.
The statement reads as follows:
“On behalf of Kumasi Academy Past Students’ Association (KAPSA-AKUNINI) of which you are a proud member, I wish to formally congratulate you on your election as the Chairman of the National Peace Council, a very important national institution, for the next 4 years.
There is no doubt that to be given the responsibility to head a body which will, alongside other state institutions, see to the peace and stability of this very polarized country called Ghana, is a daunting one. But we have no doubt in our minds that God has prepared you very well for the appointment by your upbringing right from your Kumaca days, through your pastoral work spanning several years culminating in your election as the Executive President of the Ghana Baptist Convention (GBC) for the past 8 years, to being a member of the National Peace Council for the past 4 years. In addition, we view your election to this high office as an appointment by God who will always empower you when he appoints you.
We pray that every pronouncement that will come from your mouth will be seasoned with Solomon’s wisdom, in a very independent way that will be satisfactory to all stakeholders in the country Ghana. We pray for you to be fair but firm in the execution of this national assignment.
We will continue to support you because you will continuously need the direction of the Holy Spirit to execute this duty.
Your election will undoubtedly boost your personal image, that of the Ghana Baptist Convention and Kumasi Academy, your alma mater.
May God bless you as you take up this appointment. Shalom!”
