Offinso Rising (Part 1): OCTOBER RANCH

When I first posted some of the pictures from this promising agro and livestock farm, OCTOBER RANCH, on Offinso Watch on Facebook, some people thought the pictures were graphic designs, others thought OCTOBER RANCH was nowhere located at Bonsua in Offinso municipality in Ashanti region of Ghana.

With my privileged foreknowledge of OCTOBER RANCH through my twice media tour of the place, I appreciated well the ‘Rearing for Food and Jobs’ initiative raised by Ghana’s minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, as he appeared before the Appointments Committee of the Ghanaian Parliament on Friday, February 19, 2021.

The high sense of hygiene and other best livestock practices at OCTOBER RANCH are amazing compared to elsewhere in the country. The poultry (with its rich eggs), the piggery (cleanliness and tidiness second to none), you name it, managed by self-motivated Offinso folks, are testaments of “Offinso Rising” in modern Agriculture.

OCTOBER RANCH is helping solve the unemployment issues in Offinso through direct and indirect jobs and serving as a benchmark for attractive Agricultural career stakeholders ought to see in advocating modern Agriculture as the backbone of Ghana’s economy.
