A loyal politician, MICHAEL OSIBO
My work as a media consultant is no respecter of party colours in terms of my clientele. As a consulting editor to the Movement for Oti Region in the 2018 referendum in Ghana, one man always comes mind in my commentary about loyalty in politics.
A plant engineer by profession, Michael Osibo, has been a fulcrum around which the spirit of dedication and volunteerism has evolved over the years in the Hohoe North now Hohoe Constituency. Michael has been phenomenal on the road to building a formidable New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe in Oti Region.
Michael was a polling station agent at Lipke Mate in the 1996 elections, a constituency youth organiser from 1997 to 2001, a political officer for the National Youth Wing Secretariat from 1998 to 2000, a coordinator for the Likpe East Zone in the 2000 elections, a contestant for the Volta Regional Organiser position in 2005, an assembly member for Lipke Mate electoral area from 2006 to 2010, the 1st vice chairman for Hohoe Constituency from 2013 to 2015, a parliamentary primaries candidate for Hohoe Constituency in 2015, a leading member for AFONA V16 (a voluntary campaign group for change in elections 2016), a member of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) for the chiefs and the people of Oti Region, the campaign manager for Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe (SALL) in the highly successful 2018 referendum.
Chairman Osibo is involved in youth mobilisation and mentorship programmes to keep the wheels of the party running. His selflessness and forthrightness attract different party members to the fold of the ruling New Patriotic Party. Michael Osibo is indeed one of a kind.
