One of the protesters at the Arise Ghana Demonstration has been arrested by The Ghana Police Service for possessing a pistol at the second day of the ongoing Arise Ghana demonstration.
The culprit who retreated and surrendered after he was seen with the weapon has been sent to the Police station to aid the police in further interrogations.
Meanwhile, leaders of the demonstration have asked anyone who has any weapon to surrender it, and they claim they will not protect or shield anyone who’s caught for possessing a weapon.
The Arise Ghana demonstrators massed up at the El Wak Stadium to continue with their scheduled protest against economic hardship. His arrest comes after some other 29 protestors were arrested earlier by the Police.
The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo indicated that, “the leadership of the Arise Ghana group will avail themselves to any lawful police invite and procedures.” when speaking to the media.
The group is registering its displeasure at what it describes as worsening economic conditions in the county.
