REV. EMMANUEL KUSI CALLS FOR SHUTDOWN OF NEW LGBTQI OFFICE IN ACCRA.
The Founder and Leader of Life Of Christ Power Ministry International at Ejisu-Manhyia, Reverend Emmanuel Kwadwo Kusi has called on the President, Akufo-Addo to shut down a new Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender and Queer Intersex (LGBTQI) office in Accra.
His comments follows the participation of the European Union (EU) in the opening of a new office space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender and Queer Intersex (LGBTQI) reiterating its supports for similar organizations in the country.
On February 18, 2021, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the minister designate for Information and also Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi was responding to questions when he took his turn before Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting, he said that, given the current advocacy around the legalization of homosexuality in the country, the country needs to consider passing a law that tackles its promotion because the practice in itself is culturally unacceptable and goes contrary to section 104 of the Criminal Code, 1960.
According to Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, customary law frowns on LGBT activities.
But in an interview with the Founder and Leader of Life Of Christ Power Ministry International, The government must shut down the office before it get out of hands.
He therefore appealed to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to come out and give updates about the decision to shut down the office, to Ghanaians.
According to him, Ghanaians are curiously looking up on the government to give out it takes on that.
