Sekyere Kumawu DCE under fire!
Some aggrieved ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) members, sympathizers and citizens of Sekyere Kumawu district in Ashanti region of Ghana are calling for the removal of their district chief executive (DCE), Samuel Addai Agyekum, for having “woefully failed” as a government representative.
At a press conference held at Bodomase Tuesday, the group raised Mr. Agyekum’s failed attempts to support an independent candidate to unseat his own NPP member of parliament (MP) to the extent of insulting the MP and refusing to heed influential regional members of the party’s advice to resolve the issue, among other attitudes that have retrogressed development in the party’s stronghold.
The group is, therefore, pleading with the president to replace Mr. Agyekum with a “proactive, industrious, well connected, and ready to work in harmony with the MP” person to ensure the development of the district and the party’s popularity in the constituency.
Their press release was read by convenor George Ofosu.
