SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON THE SOHEFIA ISSUE ( THE APPAREL OF THE SOHEFIA)

From time immemorial, SOHEFIAS are noted for their efforts at mobilizing the youths towards the development of any community and Dzolo GBOGAME is not out of that lane. It is an awesome and blissful moments to see your leaders ( SOHEFIA) come out to grace occasions in a grand style. It’s an expression of how well and we’ll he (SOHEFIA ) is doing.
However, tradition limits him on the use of “KUKU” chiefs 👑and other royal apparels. This is so because in times of necessities, the story of where real royalty resides can be twisted especially when the royal lineage is not on their toes to oppose such views and this can lead to long time chieftaincy disputes. It’s also one of the reasons why the position of a SOHEFIA does not come with a stool. Let it also be on record that Dzolo Gbogame does not have a development chief as part of their tradition so it is the SOHEFIA who plays the dual role. That is why Dzolo GBOGAME never had any development chief until the coming of some whites into the village for some developmental projects where one of them was enstooled as such and was named NANA MEVAKPOR I.

Now, someone may ask: why is the then SOHEFIA of Dzolo GBOGAME dressed in a complete apparel of a king as can be found in this picture?

In the history of Dzolo GBOGAME, in 1990’s, there were these whites led by the Late ACHANA to DZOLO GBOGAME to come and partake in some developmental projects. As at the time, because the chief Togbe DZALADE II was far away and they needed someone to receive the whites, the elders of Dzolo GBOGAME thought it wise to dress the then SOHEFIA (TOGBE SAKYI) in such a manner to represent him. However, after some time, they realised that the then SOHEFIA, took advantage of such an occasion and continued to dress in such a manner to the extent that the chief of Dzolo kpuita (Togbe Fiado) threatened to boycott one of the gatherings of Dzolo GBOGAME if the then SOHEFIA will still dress as a king to the function.
To avert, such happenings in the future, the Late Togbe Linus Tsahey was enstooled as the REAGENT to represent Togbe DZALADZE II. A position Togbe Linus Tsahey held until 1997 when TOGBEGA DZALADE II willingly abdicated the throne and TOGBE KEKRE of blessed memory was appointed among the elders to be the REAGENT. TOGBE KEKRE worked until the elders once again met in the house of Togbe KEKESI: ( FIATOR: THE TRADITIONAL FATHER TO THE CHIEF) in 1998 and handed over the leadership of DZOLO GBOGAME to AFEFIA: TOGBE JOHN AKLAMATI. A position that TOGBE JOHN AKLAMATI held until it was time for the Tsime clan to provide a Paramount chief for the people of Dzolo GBOGAME where TOGBEGA ADETSU II was enstooled.

In all, even though the SOHEFIA, is not prevented from dressing nicely, he is restricted from using KUKU (ROYAL CROWN)and other royal apparels that depicts him as a ROYAL Chief. This research became necessary when the ancestors revealed it during the final funeral rites of the late TOGBE KEKESI, FIATOR ( TRADITIONAL FATHER TO THE CHIEF). The tradition goes on. The researcher, is opened for more information to correct any anomalies that might be found in this write up. However, the researcher is again emphatic that this is the truth since the various sources are from written and oral views .
