The Ghana Police Service has promoted two officers for arresting colleague police officer who was in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp


Management of the Ghana Police Service released an official statement dated June 14, 2022 with reference number-PAD/PRESS/VOL.4/1/40, signed by Grace Ansah-Akrofi; Chief Superintendent of Police (Director of Public Affairs) informing the general public about the promotion of two police officers, Inspector Azumah Komla Justice and No. 52543 G/L/Cpl Felix Diameh for their role in bringing about the arrest of No. 45638 G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko who is a police officer for the Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Accra.

The suspect, G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko failed to stop at the Have police barrier when he was signaled by the police officers on duty to do so. He was therefore given a chase and upon reaching a section of the thoroughfare on the kpeve mountain, he was involved in an accident and he had a fracture on his left hand. He was then apprehended and taken to the hospital for treatment. He has since been transferred to the Police hospital for further medical care where he is under guard.

The police retrieved 84 parcels of compressed dried leave suspected to be Indian hemp from his car. The police are doing stern investigations on the matter, and the suspect will be put before the court of law when discharged from the hospital.
