Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) has contributed a lot to the rise of Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon as a powerhouse Science school.
Here are the facts:
•In the PRESEC class of 1976 the undoubtedly best Science student (Advanced Level) was Boakye Ansah from KUMACA (Ordinary Level).
•In the PRESEC class of 1977 the generally regarded best student in Physics was from KUMACA (O-Level). It was predicted that he would be the first student to obtain the school’s first grade “A” in Physics at the A-Level. And he lived up to that expectation by coming out as best Science student that year.
•In 1981 another KUMACA (O-Level) chap, Asakaa (who later changed his name) emerged as one of the top students at A-Level.
I lost track of the subsequent years’.
So KUMACA and PRESEC have enjoyed good relations for many years. I hope the relationship continues.
Regards to all!
